How To Ship Your Fraser
Component based and hand crafted, it does not get any more exclusive than the Fraser. The fact that they are built in New Zealand does not help, though. It means that one has to find an auto shipping company to ferry the car home and a reliable one at that. Here are some tips from industry experts on how to choose a reliable company.
Look for a local company
The growth of the online platform has made it easier to find whatever service one is looking for easily. Today, there is no need of scouring listings on the yellow pages when there a random search online can reveal thousands of hits. Enter such keywords as auto transport and hit the search engine search button. Any reputable company must have an online presence, so a search online is likely to unearth a good company. Sometimes, though, a random search like this could return thousands of hits. A good way to narrow them down is to search for local companies, whose offices can be visited, and representatives can be met face to face.
Going local narrows down the list, but it still does not give you an express choice. Narrow down the list to about three choices, and make comparisons by asking questions. Here are some helpful questions whose answers might have a huge bearing;
Does the company offer insurance?
Insurance is important in the car shipping industry for several reasons. The most important reason is that insurance is a guarantee that should anything happen to the vehicle, then the costs will be covered by the company. Insurance, however, can also be a measure of the reliability of the company. First, the department of transport requires every car company to have their vehicles insured. Dealing with an insured company gives the assurance that the auto shipping company is compliant with the rules of the USDOT. No insurance provider can cover a company that has a history of high-risk operations, disciplinary action taken against them, or one that is not registered.
How much does it cost?
Find the companies you are interested in and go directly to their website for a quote. It is likely that one will find the most reliable companies to be the most expensive. A multi-quote website at this stage might be helpful. Make sure to enter all the required information correctly to receive the most accurate prices. While this process is likely to return good workable quotes, it is important to remember that sometimes these companies change quotes with the season or region. Confirm just how long the quote will be good for. Cost can also be used as a measure of the company reliability. Look for a company that offers value for money, and not necessarily the cheapest. Companies confident in the quality of their services will have no problem offering quotes to their customers.
The quality of the car shipping process depends on the company chosen. It might seem easy, given the number of options available. However, given the lengths people go to when searching for those classic collector’s item vehicles, it is important to ask the right questions to make sure the process goes as smoothly as possible.
