Safe And Reliable South Dakota Car Shipping Services By A-1 Auto Transport
While its state neighbor to the north takes the crown for the 4th least densely populated state in the country, South Dakota comes in at number 5. Spanning mostly expanses of prairies and mountains, there is plenty of recreation to be had around the state. For example, the Black Hills, home to Mount Rushmore, is a hot spot for hiking and mountain biking. East River and West River are both prime spots for fishing and kayaking.
The culture here is pronounced, with a lot of Native American populations taking up residence around the state. Agriculture is huge here, with the state’s economy depending on it. Many people make the trek here to see Mount Rushmore, the Crazy Horse Memorial, and Deadwood; however, there are a number of other cool outdoor sights to visit around the state.

Using South Dakota Car Transport Companies
When you are looking to book South Dakota car transport services, keep a few key tips in mind.
- Consider the advantages of a company local to South Dakota: If you choose a national company, they might have better rates, but not better customer service than a South Dakota auto transport company. Depending on whether or not you need transport in or out of the state, weigh your options when choosing a local company.
- Consider door-to-door versus terminal transport: Because there aren’t a great deal of local cities and towns in South Dakota, choose wisely when considering having your vehicle delivered to a terminal. Depending on where you plan to be when the car arrives, you may be forced to pay the little bit of extra money for door-to-door shipping.
- Prep your car for a great deal of driving: There is so much to see when driving around South Dakota, so make sure you are prepared. Make your favorite playlists ahead time, research the nearest gas stations so you can fill up and make sure your car is filled with the proper fluids to ensure that you are able to drive around and enjoy this beautiful state.

Long Distance Auto Transport to/from South Dakota
You may want to factor in the cost of the vehicle’s transportation into your overall moving budget, including its security if you’re moving over long distances. The shipping price can fluctuate greatly depending on the distance, type and condition of the vehicle, the pickup and delivery locations, as well as your choice of carrier.
Most car shipments use an open carrier. It is the most cost effective way because it can accommodate up to 12 vehicles per load. However, the automobiles are exposed to the elements.
Though an open carrier is budget-friendly, you may want to consider an enclosed carrier for the added safety. Since such carriers can transport between 1-6 vehicles per load depending on their size, the cost of using one is also higher.
International Auto Transport from/to South Dakota
Due to varying regulations from country to country, each international auto transport is a slightly different challenge. Each country sets its own import taxes, may have different requirements in terms of documentation, etc.
A1 Auto Transport takes all these factors into consideration when planning out each shipment. We will inform you of what you need to prepare and what you need to be prepared for. To learn more, call our office and explain your situation.
Cheap Car Transportation Options in South Dakota
One of the reasons auto shipping can be a pricy service is the time of year you choose to do it in. The demand for auto transport increases mostly during the summer season, and the price rises accordingly. So, to maximize your savings, you may want to ship in autumn or winter.
Another option which can save you money is an open carrier. When booking a transport, you’ll have to choose between open or enclosed transportation. Always choose the first if you’re trying to be frugal. The latter comes with a few extra features, but open carriers are just as reliable.
The best way to figure out what the cheapest options are is to speak directly to our staff. Ask them if there are any terminals nearby, since this service is much cheaper than door to door. Also inquire about our discounts, since you may just qualify for one.
Shipping Luxury and Classic Cars in South Dakota
South Dakota luxury and classic cars are best transported in enclosed carriers for a number of reasons. First of all, they can be carried alone or in pairs. This way, they’ll get to the arrival point much sooner since the driver won’t have to make unnecessary stops along the way. The risk of your luxury or exotic car bumping into another is also eliminated using this method.
Antique vehicle owners usually want to prevent bumps and scratches as much as possible. By moving the car in an enclosed truck, it’s safe from flying road debris. It’s also protected from wind, snow, and any form of bad weather. Since it gets to its destination sooner, the chances of an auto accident happening midway are also diminished. Finally, since the vehicle is covered, neither thieves, nor vandals will know of its location and will not be able to get near it.
South Dakota Special Discounts
Our company has prepared special discounts to both senior and student customers, so they can all afford to transport their cars. We also give discounts to any member of the US military who wishes to use our shipping services. Normal citizens, who do not belong to these categories, can reduce their costs by scheduling their transports in less busy periods of the year. You can inquire about our seasonal offers over the phone.
Auto Transport Safety Measures in South Dakota
Auto carriers are designed to be as safe and resilient as possible. They’re equipped with straps that fix each automobile in place. Enclosed carriers completely cover the cargo, so it’s not exposed to outside elements, while open trucks have beams and bars placed strategically with the same purpose.
Any damage your car does sustain during transport can be recovered thanks to our auto insurance. When you receive your automobile, first check its condition before signing any papers. If you notice anything wrong, note it immediately and bring it to the attention of the driver.

How to Request a Price Estimate
The standard method of obtaining a quote is an online form. Ours is located near our company phone number, at the top of the website. There are 2 parts to it, 8 fields in total that are straightforward and easy to complete. We recommend you read the text in each box carefully, so you don’t accidentally write the wrong information.
If you’d like a more accurate quote, we will need some more details. You can provide these through a phone call to our office. Again, the number is just above the form. There may be circumstances which influence the price that you cannot provide through a form. Call us directly, and you may become one of the happy customers who’ve saved around 10-15% after talking to us.
