Springfield Motorcycle Shipping

Highly populated cities make shipping a motorcycle tricky for anybody not using a commercial transportation service. There are thousands of people who inhabit the City of Springfield who encompass the roadways daily. A highly congested roadway makes navigating safely throughout the city difficult and frustrating. For a professional, shipping a motorcycle through dense traffic is simple and a typical part of their job.

Hazards on the Highway

  • Poor weather conditions

  • Pot Holes

  • Blown out tires

  • Fog

  • Heavy traffic

These are just a few hazards that can cause accidents that can easily be avoided by using a professional to transport a motorcycle. Specific and important steps need to be followed in order to achieve a successful delivery. For a low cost a representative can inform a customer of all their available options. How a customer chooses to transport their motorcycle holds no bearing on the condition it arrives in. they can expect the bike to be delivered in the same shape it left in.

Options for Transporting a Motorcycle

  • Enclosed Transportation- This method of transportation is considered to be the safest. The bike is protected from the elements and driving conditions.

  • Open Air Transportation- This is a perfectly safe and reliable means of transportation as long as the customer does not mind their motorcycle being slightly exposed to weather and driving conditions.

  • Door to Door- This convenient method of transportation means the bike is picked up at a specific location and delivered directly to its next destination.

  • Terminal to Terminal- Those that choose this method save a few dollars. However, it can be slightly inconvenient if the customer does not live near the terminal depot.

  • Crated Shipping- In some cases. The customer may be required to remove handlebars and mirrors, drain the fluids and disconnect the battery.

Prepping a Motorcycle for Shipping

  • Wash any dirt, deposits and dust from the motorcycle

  • Remove any loose objects and accessories that can scratch the paint while in transit

  • Disable the security alarm if the bike has one installed

  • Check fluids, tire pressure and battery

  • Gas level should not be higher than ¼ tank before transportation

  • Document and list any problems and damages to the bike before transportation

By completing these few tasks, the customer has full knowledge of the condition of their bike before it gets shipped to Missouri. Also, the customer can have peace of mind in knowing that their bike has the best chance to make it to its destination without damage.
