Auto Shipping Tips
Having an automobile shipped can be a daunting thing to do. Once you have the car booked for transport you will need to prepare it for travel. Follow these simple tips from A-1 Auto Transport to have your car ready when the driver arrives to pick it up:
- Make sure you thoroughly clean the car inside and out.
- Take photos and document any scratches, dents or dings that you can see on the exterior of the car.
- Be sure to use the time/date stamp when talking photos.
- Remove all personal content from inside the car unless the carrier is authorized to haul personal material as well as motor vehicles.
- Make sure the battery is fully charged.
- Check the tire pressure and ensure all tires are inflated correctly.
- Check the car for leaks and if there are any make sure they have been repaired before the carrier picks the car up.
- If you have toll tags on the car, be sure to remove them as it is possible for the car to be charged toll fees during transport if stickers are visible.
- Fold the exterior mirrors back and remove or retract the antenna.
- Disable the car alarm if there is one on the car. If it is not able to be disarmed, make sure the driver knows how to turn it off.
