Quick & Safe Overseas Rotterdam Auto Transport Services
Overseas auto transport, as with local shipping, goes much beyond a team of auto shipping professionals busying themselves to ship cars, there are several other considerations as well. Hauling cars overseas, as we know, is highly complicated, but when handled by professionals with prior experience, the challenge can be cut down significantly.
Car moving, be it local or international, is a serious business, and if you're planning on getting your vehicle to any given destination, hiring a competent auto transport company such as A1 Auto Transport should be your top priority. You need to get your job done well because the intricacies of shifting single or multiple vehicles overseas are by no means a small matter.

You need professional vehicle moving experts to handle your vehicle, in both cases. For international relocating, i.e. shipping car overseas, one has to deal with vehicle document attestation, assure that paid sales tax receipts are available, deal with customs duties (customs clearance, customs clearance certificate, etc.), import duties, and much more before they can get the car delivered to the overseas destination.
As for the overland transport (in case of door-to-door service) one still needs to ensure complete safety for the vehicle throughout. Overland transport must go on smoothly and the expectations of the client must be met thoroughly. This is only possible if you hire auto transport professionals who are acquainted with the challenges that await.
At A1 Auto Transport, we go the extra mile to make auto transportation as quick and efficient for our clients as possible.
How do we do that, especially in the context of hauling cars to Rotterdam?

Overseas Vehicle Shipping Options
Transporting a car to the Netherlands, whether it be a regular one, one of your classic cars, a sports vehicle, and so on, presents challenges of its own. Overseas transport can be a quick (relatively) and efficient method of shifting cars, but the success of such ventures vary depending on factors like the abilities of the people handling things.
But in any case, this mode of transportation is far from being inflexible.
At A1 Auto Transport, we offer several options to clients seeking our services for overseas vehicle moving to the Netherlands and other countries. If you want to import your car to an outside country, it is important to choose your options wisely because you need to balance convenience with the costs. Our services are versatile and reliable, giving you enough freedom to take your pick based on the payment options.
Whatever it is that is taking you to the Netherlands, and whether you're headed there temporarily or permanently won't affect the overall results. Yes, the protocols for shipping a car to the country permanently and temporarily are a bit different, but we'll worry about that. On your end, you have to choose how we get it there and how much you want us involved in the whole thing.
Just let us emphasize that most Dutch officials can't speak English, so you can run into trouble shifting your car to the final destination (from the USA) without professional assistance from our end.
That being said, here are your options for overseas car relocating in this regard:
1) Open-Air/RoRo Transport
The baseline version of overseas transport, also known as roll-on, roll-off transport (RoRo shipping), involves driving the car on a carrier vessel and then fastening it with the deck alongside several others of its kind. From there, the vessel leaves the departure port, sailing across the marine routes to the destination port in the Netherlands (in this case). This is by far, the easiest way of hauling a vehicle overseas, and also, it doesn't cost as much as the other options. However, your car can't have any personal possessions in it, including the vehicle documentation, when you're relocating it this way. Also, it would be best to strip your vehicle off to its factory form (remove any additional accessories and decorations) before sending it off. While open-air transport is cheaper and simpler than other options mentioned here, it is not the safest shipping method.
2) Enclosed/Container Transport
This is a modified version of the roll-on, roll-off transport except, in this case, the car is driven into a container and fastened to its inside, the container is then sealed, and transported to the carrier vessel. The car stays sealed inside this container for the entire voyage and is offloaded when the carrier arrives at the destination port, completing the vehicle import. Of course, in this case, your car will be much safer than otherwise and any personal items left inside your vehicle will also stay perfectly safe (though ideally, you shouldn't have anything in there). This process is simple and safe, but at the same time, you'll have to give up a bigger sum in compensation for the shifting services.
3) Shared Container Transport
If you feel that an exclusive container may be too expensive for you but don't want to let go of the added protection that comes with it, then a shared container will be a perfect compromise here. The idea is pretty obvious and the details work out more or less the same way as mentioned in the previous section, only the cost is lower. When relocating multiple cars this way, you'll save up big time, but even for a single car, the cost difference is noticeable. Just be sure to work out the exact cost of relocating from the USA to the Netherlands because the rates also depend on the route taken in addition to the hauling option and the nature of the vehicle.
4) Air Freight
This is the quickest of all options but also costs more than all others mentioned so far. Customers usually choose air freight for their cars if they're in a rush or if the car is special, i.e. a rare sports car or classic. The travel time is cut down drastically in this case and insurance coverage applies to air freight as well so you don't have to worry about any handling damages - not that we'd ever let anything happen to your ride, as professionals true to their jobs, we take extreme care about such matters.
Whatever option you choose, remember to take your budgetary constraints and other needs into account first. Most customers go for open-air transport because it is the cheapest option and fairly safe, however, the added protection that comes with subsequent options is there for a reason, and is available for a bigger price tag.

Delivery Options & More
Besides shipment, you also have to contend with the remainder of the protocol. For instance, you can choose to have your car delivered to your doorstep or pick it from the port. The customs clearance, verification of tax payment (sales tax, VAT, etc.), and registration in the Netherlands are to follow, and we are well-acquainted with the protocol.
Here's how things work following overseas car shipment:
Is Door-To-Door Service For You?
If you want to shift cars overseas, especially to the Netherlands, you can choose to have them delivered to your new address. Door-to-door service is the most convenient option for our customers, however, it does come at an added cost. If you're relocating overseas, it would make sense to go for this option as it would take the burden off your shoulders - there's probably a ton of things you need to be worried about when relocating, and getting your car from the port (and getting customs clearance) should not be one of them. Of course, that's not to say that this is not doable, it is just too much of a drag. If you don't mind the extra cost, then sit back and relax while the auto movers handle everything from their end; by far, this is the most convenient option.
How Does Port-To-Port Delivery Work?
In contrast, some people prefer saving up on their resources over convenience. Moving overseas can also put a heavy financial strain on any regular income individual, and thus the added expense of door-to-door service may drown its merits and the convenience it brings to the table. In this case, it would make more sense to go the extra mile yourself and deliver your car to the departure port and then receive the shipment when it arrives. This does demand extra effort on your part but it is financially less burdening and thus suitable for people trying to save up on their spending in this regard.
What Happens After Delivery?
Following delivery, if you let us handle the rest, we'll get the car cleared for all import regulations, pay import duties, declare tax payment (unless an exemption can be secured) before the customs department, ensure customs clearance, receive the clearance certificate, and register the car in the Netherlands (if needed). You can handle things on your own as well but it is highly recommended that you don't because the time and effort demanded by these last steps can be overwhelming. If you do want to take on this challenge on your own, be sure to read through the detailed instructions on the Dutch customs website so you can understand exactly what you have to do and in what order. Following this, you'll have successfully moved your vehicle to the Netherlands.
