Importing Vehicles into USA from Luxembourg
Importing vehicles from overseas is a sensitive endeavor. There are factors to be taken into account like the trade policies of the country you are importing from, means of transportation, and the final delivery of the vehicle. Use a car transportation company that doesn’t have the right experience, muscle, and resources to do the job, and things can go wrong, leaving your car stuck in a foreign land. The entire process gets even more involving when importing a car from a landlocked country like Luxembourg.
A-1 Auto Transport is your go-to automotive shipping company for clients seeking to import vehicle into USA from Luxembourg. We know the economy workings of the 998.6 square mile landlocked country in Western Europe. Large cargo, just like vehicles, can easily be air-lifted and exported. However, when it is adamant that the transport has to be by sea, the subject items of exportation need to find way to international serving ports in the coastal countries neighboring Luxembourg.

Planning out the shipping terminals
The shipping port to be used is determined prior to any other step. The location of the shipping port to be used dictates a number of other items including the customs duty to be paid, the total land distance covered away from the US, and the freight schedule. The Belgium coastline is the closest from Luxembourg, making it our most preferred shipping port; it cuts down on the overall cost and distance compared to German and French ports.
All relevant paperwork is also dealt with before shipment. A-1 Auto Transport is a bonafide member of the American Association of Port Authorities. We are always up to speed with the current rates, taxes, and duties of import items getting into the US. Being a member of this group comes with its perks, including knowledge of foreign treaties made in regards to international trade.
This comes in handy as we know all the relevant paperwork, monies payable, and any other formalities that must be followed. Need I stress more why we are the best?
Once we have a blueprint of the entire process, our cost estimator will provide an accurate estimated quote of how much the entire process should cost. The international shipping cost estimator is built from a comprehensive algorithm that brings in details about the car profile, the total distance covered (both land and sea), and the monies payable both overseas and in the US.
The shipping process then begins once the down-payment of the initial quoted price is made. The processes are different depending on the means of transport opted for.
Air transport is the easiest, but it is the most expensive. The vehicle makes its way to the designated airport from where the relevant formalities are performed before the vehicle can be cleared for takeoff. Such formalities include double checking payment of taxes and customs, plus a detailed car hauler inspection before the vehicle can board the cargo plane.
For ocean freight, the vehicle undergoes a car hauler inspection before it is hauled from its location to the designated port either in Belgium, Germany or France. The relevant paperwork is checked at the border points and upon arrival at the port. A final car hauler inspection report is performed before the vehicle can board the cargo ship. Once cleared, the vehicle begins the journey to the United States.
A-1 Auto Transport offers our clients shipment GPS tracking so that clients can be up to speed with the progress of the entire journey. The GPS tracking also provides an estimated time of arrival so the client can make private arrangements on their end.
Once the vehicle arrives in the United States, it is cleared from the port and delivered to the client according to the terms discussed. There are two options for delivery, door to door service and terminal to terminal service, which you can read more about them here.
