If you buy a vehicle from someone who either lost the title or didn't deliver it as promised, shipping the car can be a bit of an issue when it comes to shipping the vehicle.

Hope is not all lost, however. The simplest thing to do is call the seller and ask for the title, explaining that you need it to ship the car. If you can't reach them or if the title is gone forever, you can apply for a bonded title. A bonded title is legally a heading with a surety bond attached. It is like an official promise that you are the vehicle's valid owner.

After a few years, the bonded part can be removed from the heading after a few years, and you can reapply for a clean title later. However, in the context of transporting the car, a bonded heading holds the same weight.
