This is How I ship my car to Hawaii
Hawaii is a popular destination for travelers and thankfully for those who are traveling to one of the islands or planning to move from the mainland, there are several ports where you can ship to and from Hawaii. With numerous ports on the west coast of the U.S. where your car can ship out to directly to one of the Hawaiian ports in Pearl harbor, Honolulu, Hilo, Kahului, Nawiliwili or Grays Harbor, shipping a car is straightforward and simple to handle. You can also opt to ship to an interisland area instead of having to pick the car up at a main port, and this will save you time because your car will be able to be shipped directly to your home and you will not need to travel to the coast to pick it up.
You will have a few choices on how to ship your car to Hawaii.
With Roll-On Roll-Off, also called RoRo, cars are driven onto a large cargo ship and secured in place for the trip from California to Hawaii. It is a safe mode of transport and often the least expensive choice although your car will be exposed to the elements during shipment.
If you are making a long-term move or you have a luxury car or other expensive car you may want to pay a little more for a container to ship the car inside. Inside a shipping container, your car and other valuables will be safely locked away and safe from harm from damaging weather or other issues that could cause damage.
Door to Door
Regardless of where you reside in the U.S., your car can be picked up and transported via carrier on the interstate to the west coast for shipment to Hawaii. Once loaded onto the ship, the car can be delivered inland to your new home or vacation rental in Hawaii, so you won’t need to pick it up from the port and drive it home. This is an excellent choice for cars that don’t run or for people who may not have time to meet the car at a port.
