The Stages of Shipping to South Houston
Once you have completed your search and hire a quality transport company, you can expect the following transition stages to have your vehicle delivered:
- The company will give you a price quote and once you agree to the price they will email or fax the paperwork to you. You need to sign any paperwork that they require and send it back to the company quickly.
- Once the company has the signed paperwork they will schedule the vehicle for pick-up and delivery and will notify you of the scheduled date to pick the car up.
- Usually, the carrier driver will call you to schedule the pick-up time.
- When the driver arrives to pick the vehicle up, an inspection of the car will be completed. You need to be physically present during the inspection. Take some time and date stamped photos from all angles of the vehicle. Cell phones are great to use as you can store the photos on the phone.
- Once the inspection is complete the driver will give you the report to sign. Be sure to read the report carefully and sign only if it is accurate. If it is not accurate you need to make sure it is changed before you sign.
- The driver will load the vehicle and will set off for the new location.
- Once the vehicle is in transit the driver will usually call within 24 hours to let you know when he will deliver the vehicle.
- When the vehicle is delivered you need to walk around the car and fully inspect it for any signs of damage.
- If there is no damage you will sign the paperwork and the driver will be on his way.
- If there is any damage it needs to be fully noted on the Bill of Lading before anything is signed. You need to immediately contact the company and file a damage claim to have the damage repaired. You will also need to pay the shipping fees in full if they have not already been paid.
