Two Shipping Methods Designed to Protect the Bike from Outdoor Elements.
Of course, the types of services available to you will depend greatly on the company you go through for the shipping process. Nevertheless, many transport companies offer very similar services, even for motorcycle specifically. When a customer has a motorcycle that needs to be shipped, there are two popular options that many choose between.
Enclosed shipping services are perhaps the most common form of motorcycle transport. This includes securing the bike to a platform. The platform and motorcycle are then slid inside of a large shipping container. This keeps it safe from poor weather and road conditions that may cause minor damage to its exterior.
Crated transport is considered the ultimately safest form of shipping. The crate is much smaller than those used for enclosed shipping. The motorcycle is secured to a platform just the same, but is then placed in a very snug container that often requires the handlebars to be removed. This type of shipping keeps the bike from shifting during its delivery.
