When you need to hire a professional auto transporter, follow these tips provided by A-1 Auto Transport to make sure you get reliable service:
- Payment in Advance: When you are talking to different companies before hiring one, watch out for those that require payment to be made in advance. Some companies will require a small deposit, but not many if any at all will require the full payment in advance. If you speak to a company that requires either all or more than half of the shipping payment to be paid before the vehicle is picked up then it is best to consider a different company altogether.
- Low Price Quotes- There is nothing wrong with a company quoting a price that is lower than everyone else. There is a reason to worry when a company offers a quote that is extremely lower than everyone else though. There are some companies out there that will quote extremely low, too good to be true prices and most of these companies are either an unlicensed and uninsured company while some are not even valid transport companies at all. You should compare rates with at least three or more companies before making a decision on the company you hire.
- Carrier Types- You need to speak to companies to make sure they offer the type of carrier that you need for your vehicle. Most cars do well with open carriers and most companies offer open transport service. If you have a classic or vintage vehicle, however, the best way to ship the car long distance is with an enclosed carrier. You need to ask upfront if the company offers enclosed transport, especially if you want a secure transport environment for a highly valuable car.
