For various reasons, you may have to ship your vehicle faster than normal. This can be due to a last minute move or an emergency. Fortunately for you, you're not the only one to ever want to expedite the auto transport process so it is possible to do so, especially if you follow tips and suggestions listed below.
Contact a Company Ahead of Time
If you contact an auto transport company ahead of time, you may be able to request an expedited auto transport service. It's much harder for a company to do so the same day or even the day before, as they have to go through a few different arrangements and to find a carrier that would be willing to do so. The more advanced notice, the better.
Avoid the Weekends
The weekends are the toughest days to scheduled expedited service. As with many things, try to stick to the work week. You will have a far greater chance of finding a company that can provide last-minute expedited service if you do so. The earlier in the work week that it is, the easier time that you'll have in finding an auto transport company that can accommodate your needs.
Be Flexible on Pickup and Delivery Points
Door-to-door delivery services may be out of the question. You need to work with the auto transport companies a bit. This can mean dropping off your vehicle at an agreed upon location for pickup and also, agreeing to have your vehicle delivered to a location that is close to you, rather than right at your door. If you live near a major city, this might be your best option.
Follow the Instructions
Make sure to follow all of the instructions. Have the right documents prepared. Check the policy on personal items. You don't want to cause any delays by violating some of the auto transport company's policies. Double check with the auto transport company to make sure that you've followed everything fully and accurately.
Be Prepared to Pay More
This goes without saying. You WILL have to pay more to have your vehicle transport expedited. The farther that it has to go, the more that you will have to pay. It'll be higher, but it won't be too outrageous. If you're planning on shipping your vehicle during the middle of a winter from or to a remote location during a snowstorm, then you can expect the price to be much much higher. But in most instances, auto transport companies will charge you more, but they should still be fair. Shop around.
