Every country has its own taste in cars depending on their roads, the size of the cities and people’s lifestyles. It’s hard to pick a specific car model that would fit different cities at once. But when it comes to the brand in general, it’s much easier to find the most preferred ones by the public. The choice may change depending on the average income per household in the city, but when you look at it on a bigger scale it becomes obvious what car brands stand out the most. As you may already know many well-known car brands worldwide are not American. In fact, if you ask anyone you know what countries produce the best cars chances are you’ll hear Germany, Japan or Britain. These countries are separately known for producing the most practical, luxurious and accessible cars in the world.
That being said, American cars are famous around the world not by volume but by uniqueness. Many brands are very well-known due to the specific car models and by looking at the name of the brand you might even guess the model yourself.
Top 7 American Car Brands:
If you look at smart ratings of countries that produce top selling cars, you’ll see that America is fairly famous around the world for their cars as well. The main reason why America is not as famous worldwide is because of the drastic difference in the car preference of the people. US roads are generally much wider than regular roads in Europe and Asia, thus it allows for bigger cars. Not to mention the petrol is cheaper so people can afford to tank a truck as opposed to a sedan.

If you look at the statistics before you’ll see that Ford ranks quite great for the most valuable cars around the world in 2016. In such a competitive market, it is an amazing to be in the fifth place by value worldwide. On the 10th place by value, you’ll see Tesla, which is also an American brand. It’s still quite a new brand regarding car manufacturing. Their first car was made in 2008, yet they managed to reach the charts and take the tenth place by value worldwide.
Within the United States, the picture of the best-selling brands changes slightly. As you can see from the statistics below the market surely supports national car manufacturers with the top two being Ford and Chevrolet. The latter has strengthened its position over the years by increasing its sales up to 14.6%. Jeep has also taken a good spot, almost doubling its sales in only a three year period. It jumped from the 8th place in 2012 to the 6th place during this time.
