Auto Shipping Tips
Once you have your auto transport booked you need to make sure your vehicle is ready to go when the truck arrives to pick it up:
- Antenna’s should be folded down or taken completely off.
- Side mirrors need to be folded back so they won’t be damaged during transport.
- Loose or removable items should be taken off the vehicle. This includes hood ornaments, spoilers, hubcaps (If they are loose) fog lights, removable tool boxes and other items that may not be secured to the vehicle.
- The engine should be checked to make sure there are no fluid leaks. Most drivers will not load a vehicle if it has visible leaks as fluids can damage paint on other cars on the truck.
- If you have extra seats that can be removed, it is a good idea to remove them to lower the weight when at all possible.
- The fuel should be no higher than a half tank (preferably a quarter tank) to keep the weight down.
- Convertible tops must be securely closed and latched.
- All personal items inside the car need to be removed. This includes all CD’s or DVD’s, music or video players and all other loose items.
