It is essential to know that as Austria is part of the EU, there are some European Union emission control regulations that must be followed. Additionally, to validate the import as legal, the U.S Customs and Borer Protection service and the Austrian Customs Department need to vet the origin and ownership of the vehicle before it leaves/arrives at the port. Cost of Car Shipping

When you are preparing to have a car shipped, you will first want to consider how much it will cost. Auto Import from USA

If you are importing a vehicle from USA, which is not in European Union, laws are not the same. It is important that you have all the documents needed to ensure that your vehicle is legally imported and you have all the documents to prove it. It also makes available any paperwork that states that you are the owner of the vehicle, the size of the vehicle engine, and all details needed for customs. Duty will need to be paid at a rate of 10% of the value of your vehicle. You have to pay an import turnover tax at 20%, and the NOVA tax.

If you are importing a vehicle from the United States to Austria, you will need to follow all non-European Union regulations. Your vehicle will need to pass the Austrian specifications and you may need to modify your vehicle in order to have it meet the specifications. Road tax will also be administered depending on the engine capacity and horsepower of the SUV or car that you have imported. You don’t have to pay any taxes, if the car you have imported runs on less than twenty four horsepower.
