Transport services offered in Mancos

A-1 Auto Transport offers affordable international shipping solutions to all vehicle owners. We will send your car using any of the following options:

  • The roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) method uses specialized vessels with built-in ramps that allow the vehicles to drive/roll along during the loading and unloading process. The RoRo option is the cheapest overseas transport solution.
  • When you settle for a shipping container, you can load it at your residence or deliver the items to the port. Containerized shipping comes at a slightly higher cost compared to the RoRo option. The solution allows you to consolidate a few personal and household items in the cargo.

Open-air transport is the best option if you have no qualms about exposing a low-cost, standard vehicle to the elements. Our multi-car trailers offer some of the most competitive rates for shipping cars to or from Mancos.  We have a frequent service on the Colorado route, which guarantees a fast pickup/delivery.

Enclosed shipping becomes a better solution when you have a highly sensitive or expensive vehicle, as it offers a protective shield from the elements. To secure the handling process, we have hydraulic lift gates to offer support for the cars with a low undercarriage.

Delivery and pickup plans may depend on your needs and budget. We can collect and send the vehicle to your residence using the door-to-door arrangement. You can save money by choosing to drop off/pick up the car at the nearest A-1 Auto Transport terminal in your area.

How to prepare a car for shipping

Leaving your household goods or personal effects inside the vehicle might lead to confiscation or penalties from the authorities. The transit insurance will not cover any damage caused by the items left in the car. You might want to remove all the aftermarket accessories such as DVD players, GPS, and speakers as a safety measure.

Run down the gas to about 1/4 of the tank. Levels beyond that may increase the vehicle’s weight, which complicates the process.

Remove the external parts that face possible damage during handling and transportation. Such parts include spoilers, bike racks, grills, luggage racks, ground effects and fog lights. Retract/remove the antenna and fold in the side-view mirrors.

Clean the car and inspect it for cosmetic damage. You can take photographs of all sides of the vehicle. Make sure that you date all the records. The transporter should acknowledge them on the Bill of Lading during the pickup.

Some basic maintenance checks may help you to reign in on the cost to ship. Use the following steps to keep the vehicle in running shape:

  • Top off the fluid levels.
  • Check the tire pressure and keep the battery on a full charge.
  • Try to fix all the outstanding mechanical problems and aggressive fluid leaks in advance.

Disable the alarm system and keep a spare set of car keys that you will hand over to the truck driver.

Go to your local DMV and apply for certified copies of the title and registration documents if needed for the process. Ask your transporter to help you with information about the regulations on shipping cars to or from Mancos.
