How we Import Vehicle into USA from Spain
Our personnel work hand in hand to understand what we are working with. This mostly involves working out the particulars of where the vehicle is being shipped from. First thing we look at is the city where the vehicle is. This is important in deciding which port is most convenient for shipping the vehicle from. Normally, the closest and cheapest port is the most convenient. From there, arrangements are made to transport the vehicle to that specific port. The client can let us handle that process, or make private arrangements. Understanding the location is an integral factor as it determines the vehicle transportation method from the warehouse to the major ports in Spain for export.
There are two delivery methods available to our clients under the import vehicle into USA from Spain services. The client can choose to have the vehicle delivered to an exact address. This is known as the door – door delivery service. The client also has the option of choosing the pick-up-point option, in which the vehicle is delivered to a particular drop off terminal. The two differ in cost thanks to different factors. In most cases, the door – door delivery proves to be more expensive especially if the address is quite a distance from the particular port the vehicle landed in. The terminal – terminal delivery, on the other hand, may or may not be cheaper, thanks to particular factors. A client can choose to have the destination port as the terminal from which the vehicle will be picked. This cuts on costs a great deal. If not, we shall advise on the closest drop off point for the client to pick the vehicle from. Here, however, parking and security fees may come in place if the vehicle stays for a while before being picked up.
The overall financial implication of the import service is estimated using our comprehensive Cost calculator. Getting exact quotes for importing vehicle into USA from Spain is quite tricky thanks to miss-quoted figures and sometimes inevitable transit troubles. However, the quotation aims at giving the most accurate estimate. The final figure depends on the distance covered during the entire shipping process, the customs, duties, and freight charges together with the size, weight and make of the vehicle. Have a look at our comprehensive article on the main guide to what dictates the quote.
There are several documentation to be taken care of as dictated by the Spanish Government. These include export and customs documents together with shipper declaration forms. Moreover, every vehicle must come with it a car hauler inspection report to ensure it arrives in the same condition it left the Spanish port. Further documentation includes import papers for when the vehicle reaches the US port. We are affiliated with the American Association of Port Authorities, which keeps statistics for ports in Canada, the U.S, Latin America and the Caribbean. These statistics aid us in knowing the requirements needed to successfully import vehicle into USA from Spain.
After the paper work is done, the vehicle is then shipped under the type of shipment dictated by the shipping plan. When in transit, it is under insurance protection taken up by our auto transport company. In the event of any damage to your vehicle, be rest assured it is covered under the freight insurance policy.
Once the vehicle arrives at the US port, it is cleared by the port authorities and then delivered to the client under the terms of the arrangements. A post- shipping inspection is done and compared with the car hauler inspection report carried out before the shipping. Any variations are sorted out to ensure client satisfaction.
