Auto Transport FAQ’s
How far in advance do I need to call a transport company?
You need to plan ahead far enough in advance to let the carrier pick the car up. Two weeks prior to the date you plan on shipping the vehicle is suggested to ensure the car will be scheduled on time.
How much does it cost to ship a car?
This will vary by company but it is based on the mileage, location of delivery and the size and weight of the automobile.
Can I pack personal items inside the car?
The Department of Transportation has rules that do not allow auto transporters to load anything inside of vehicles during transport. Auto carriers are not covered by insurance for personal items inside of a vehicle, so if you have anything in a car during transport you will be shipping at your own risk and the carrier will not be responsible for those items.
Will the driver deliver door to door if I live in a rural area?
A carrier will deliver right to your home or office address as long as they can legally and safely drive on the road to the address. If the road is narrow or winding and will not accommodate the carrier or if the city has regulations stating large trucks cannot drive on the road they will arrange to deliver to a nearby location.
