The Standard Requirements for Shipment.
Prior to shipping a motorcycle, you will need to fulfill several requirements. These requirements will help keep the bike safe during its shipment. Motorcycle shipment can't happen until you do the following:
- Clean the motorcycle off. Make sure it is free of any dirt and debris.
- Inspect the motorcycle for any existing damage. Make sure that you take notes and pictures.
- Check all fluids, tire pressure and the battery.
- Don't let the gas tank go over a ¼ full.
- Remove any loose items on the bike.
Crated Shipping is the only method of shipment that has different requirements. Instead of checking the fluids, drain all of them. There mustn't be any fluids in the bike and the battery will need to be disconnected. The company might also require that the mirrors and handlebars are removed.
