Velenje is currently ranked as the fifth biggest city in Slovenia and it’s the municipality of the Velenje. It has its location in the northeastern parts of the country on the hills of the Salek Valley.
There is only one port in Slovenia, Port of Koper, but you can choose from the abundance of ports to depart from the USA, if you are considering shipping your car to the country. Based on your location, you’d have to choose the closest one of these U.S ports and your shipping agency has to operate with it. You can drive your car there yourself or you could pay an additional fee for a door-to-port service, which is quite convenient. You might like to talk with A1 Auto Transport service, to know about the procedures and processes.
Once you are through with this, you’d have to decide which particular shipping method you want to use. If you want to save some money, you can go for RORO shipping, which is simple and requires you to drive the car on its own on a shipping deck. Container shipping is a bit more expensive, as you are going to use a private 20ft or 40ft container. However, it offers more protection and you can ship other valuable goods with it.
There are several things that would determine the cost of the process and one of the most important is the shipping option. Another thing to consider is the make, model and type of vehicle you are transporting, which would be deciding, if you go for the RORO option.
As mentioned above, if you go for the door-to-port service, you’d also have to pay additional taxes. A lot of the shippers are going to insure your car, but it is advisable to get your own. This would cost you a percentage of the value of your vehicle. The particular period during which you ship is also going to have an impact because shipments during of busy aspect of the year might cost you more.
Prior to shipping you’d have to prove that you’re the owner of the car to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency. You can do that with the bill of sale. You’d also have to establish that there are no liens with the title of the car. If there is a lien, you’d need a special and notarized permit from the lien holder. There are other documents that you need to submit which includes:
- Proof of insurance.
- Bill of Lading.
- Proof of ownership- license, passport.
- Bill of purchase of vehicle.
- Title deed.
You will also need a valid license as well as a registration. Of course, all of these should be well-known by your shipping agency and they are the ones that have to ensure a hassle-free and smooth transportation of your car.
