Situated at the confluence of the rivers Grejs and Vejle, the city of Vejle is at the southernmost end of Jutland peninsula. Additionally, it is part of the Triangle area with cities of Fredericia and Kolding.
If you intend staying here for a few weeks or a couple of years, you’d be happy to have your own set of wheels to drive around. That is why you have the option of importing them on a temporary or permanent basis. You might need assistance from an international auto shipping service due to the different procedures and permits that have to be completed. And that is where A1 Auto Transport service steps in with its experience and network of international shipping agents to assist you through Danish Customs procedures.
To start with, you have the option of shipping your vehicle using container shipping and RORO method. With plenty of ports in Denmark, shipping vehicles are delivered in time if you follow the rules and regulations of the country.
With RORO, your vehicle is put on the ship by driving it to the deck, where it is secured and then driven off the ship at the Danish port. You are only paying for the space occupied by the car and that is why it turns out to be cheap. Whereas, container shipping is more expensive as the vehicle along with any other personal goods that you need transferred are put within it. The added layer of protection and exclusivity ensures that the vehicle and goods reach safely with minimum damage during transit.
Permits for temporary and permanent auto import.
If you plan on going back to USA after a few months, temporary permits on vehicle imports are possible. You will be allowed to import your vehicle without paying a plethora of taxes and duties. However, to attain the permit, there is a small registration fee of approx. US$73 and A1 Auto Transport service will assist you through the procedure. You are required to submit a few documents including:
- Vehicle registration/title deed.
- Insurance on the vehicle.
- Driving license/Passport of the owner.
Permanent imports are more common and there is a complete procedure to get the vehicle on this permit. To start with you are required to get your imported car registered within 14 days of import. The vehicle will have to pass the inspection and be evaluated as per the officials of Danish Register of Motor Vehicles.
You have to complete and pay duties and excise tax and keep the receipt of these handy as it works as temporary registration till the final registration is not completed. This allows you to drive in Vejle. The taxes are based on the valuation of the vehicle, shipping charges and the insurance by the Danish Ministry of Taxation. After the registration duties and fees are paid, you are eligible to buy the license plates with the new numbers. To know more about the import laws, get answers to your queries, call A1 Auto Transport service or contact the Embassy of Denmark.
