Unlike many other African countries, Tanzania has flexible laws when it is about importing vehicles from USA. Thus, with no age limitations, you can import a new vehicle or the one that you have been using for a couple of years. However, in case you are importing a vehicle that is over ten years old, you will have to pay a higher custom duty. Every imported vehicle has to clear the roadworthiness tests and emissions inspections before it can be driven on the roads in Tabora and any other city in Tanzania.
