Located near the border of Russia, Semey is a city that is located in Kazakhstan. It is also 620 miles north to Amaty and 430 miles southeast of Omsk. Trade and tourism is consistent these days and because of that, Kazakhstan has made it easier to import when possible.
You have different methods of shipping available these days so in order to do your import right the first time, you will need the services of A1 Auto Transport Service to assist you with all your shipping needs.

When you are preparing for an import, you will need to ensure that all the documentation that is available for the domestic U.S Customs and the Kazakhstan Customs Authority to check. You will need to have:
- Vehicle registration from the US.
- Car purchase Invoice.
- Title of the vehicle.
- Passport and proof of ownership.
- Work permit/residence.
Before you import your vehicle, you will need to check the limitations and restrictions to see if they apply to you. Once your vehicle has arrived to Semey, you will also need to follow regulations and rules there as well. You will also need to pay your duties and fees. You will need to take your car through the emissions and tests that will need to be performed in order to clear the vehicle or to make modifications if needed. You will need to be approved by the Kazakhstan government for a license plate issued to you for your vehicle. It's a good idea to go ahead and get used to the driving rules and regulations there in Kazakhstan before you go so you understand and can drive without problems. You will also be required to obtain a driver’s license once your driver's license issued from the U.S has expired.
You will have a choice in shipping methods. The first is the Roll On/ Roll Off. You will need to remove everything from inside your vehicle before you put it on the ship. The vehicle will be driven off when it reaches it is a designation. While in route, your vehicle will be strapped down and secured for shipping. You will need to remove the gas from the air conditioner. The only items left in your car will be the spare tire, the jack, and the floor mats. If you leave anything else in your car, they will quarantine it until it is clear.
Container shipping is the second method of shipment. This method is more expensive but it does offer you more security. Your car and all your household goods can be kept safely in a box that's either 20 foot or 40 foot in size. You will not be allowed to ship anything that is illegal in this country. Once your container is loaded, it will be sealed up and then lifted onto the ship by a crane. Once it reaches its destination, the container will then be lifted off the ship and onto the port.
You will need to check with the Embassy of Kazakhstan to see what the latest importing laws are before you import.
