This is the second largest Montenegro city located in the country’s western part, in the central part of the spacious Niksic field at the foothills of Mt. Trebjesa. This is an important educational, cultural, and industrial center.
If you are here for lengthy stay or to become permanent resident, you would like to import your vehicle to the country. This is a good decision because it will allow you to travel whenever you wish to, easily and leisurely. Currency and language barriers do not prove to be big issues, and you can avoid public transportation. While roadways are unpaved in many areas, you will not find it difficult to drive around in your personal vehicle. You must make the most of main roads, motorways, local and regional roads that connect the various prominent cities and nearby areas in Montenegro. You will find well-maintained roads here, so driving will prove to be a breeze.
Different modes of vehicle shipment are possible once you decide that you want to bring your car to Niksic. Roll on-roll off method is an extremely popular and cheap method where your car will remain at the mercy of the elements on the deck of ship. It will remain chained there for the length of the journey. The car will get on and off the ship using own wheels. You cannot keep any personal items inside the body of the car when transporting. You will have to pay according to size of your car as this will decide the space it will occupy upon deck.
Container shipping is an ideal method when you are looking to transport sophisticated, antique, and luxury vehicles to Niksic. The cars will travel inside containers of 20/40 feet based upon your choice. If you want, you can keep your personal belongings inside to bring to Montenegro. You can book an exclusive container or share it with other people transporting their car via this method. This will help split up costs.
As per the Montenegro Custom department, you will be required to pay all required taxes and import duties based on the cost of the vehicle, freight charges and port fees among the rest.
Before shipment, you must make sure to remove all detachable parts from the car interiors and make it undergo thorough cleaning regime. This will do away with unwanted delays.
You should familiarize yourself with related tariffs, documentation, and restrictions. Some of the necessary document requirements include:
- Car title.
- Registration certificate.
- Tax and import duty receipt.
- Insurance documents.
- Bill of Lading.
Once your car arrives at the port in Montenegro, you need to be available there to receive it. In case you are unable to be at the port, you can authorize someone else to do it on your behalf. However, it is best if you work with A1 Auto Transport service and allow them to complete the Customs formalities on your behalf.
