Vehicle Shipping Methods
When you decide to ship a vehicle to Kharkiv, Ukraine there are a few ways in which you can go about doing so. Air shipping, RO/RO shipping, and container shipping are the three main methods of vehicle shipment. However, air shipping is quite expensive and not many can afford to go about shipping their vehicle this way.
RO/RO shipping is also referred to as the roll on, roll off method. This method is the least expensive way to ship an automobile. The vehicle must be empty with a few exceptions. The only items allowed in the car include a car jack, a spare tire, and the floor mats.
Container shipping allows a person to ship other belongings as well. The container and the vehicle can be filled with any items allowed by Ukraine Customs. Documents Needed and Requirements for Vehicle Shipment
There are requirements that will need to be fulfilled and documentation that will need to be presented to Customs prior to vehicle shipment. Below are some of the requirements that must be met.
- Import duty must be paid and will depend on the age of the vehicle and the size of its engine.
- Any vehicle over ten years of age is not permitted into Ukraine.
