This is a city which is located in the Region of Ali Sabieh in Djibouti and it is approximately 52 kilometers away from the capital. It is located in the central parts of the region and there is quite a lot of rainfall during the winter season.
The truth is that there are plenty of reasons for you to move to the city. If you want to have the convenience of traveling at will, having your vehicle imported from the USA is definitely beneficial. The poor connectivity, however, is going to make travel rather difficult, if you don’t have your own car. This is why that is an incredibly beneficial thing.

Considerations When Importing.
The laws are changing constantly and that’s why you might want to check with the Customs Authority of Djibouti and be aware of the current regulations. If you fail to adhere to the rules, delays are definitely going to occur. Prior to starting the process, it’s important that you get all the necessary documents. You would be required to submit the following with both customs authorities:
- Proof of ownership.
- Permit for residence or work.
- Bill of Sale.
- Title deed (free of liens.
- Car shipping from.
- Permit for import.
- EIN letter.
What is more, it’s important to be aware that Djibouti only allows left-hand drive vehicles. The A1 Auto Transport service is going to be able to assist you with the entire process and ensure that it’s hassle free.
Vehicles which have the engine capacity of up to 1300cc have to pay 30% tax. Those who have the capacity between 1300cc and 1800cc are going to be subjected to 60% tax and those with more than that – 100%. The charges are calculated based on the CIF value of the vehicle and if you are looking for a quote the A1 Auto Transport can easily provide you with one, as long as you select a convenient shipping method.
With this in mind, you can choose between a few different ways to get your car transported to Djibouti. Air shipping is the fastest way but it’s also way too expensive. This is why the most preferred methods are container shipping and Roll-on/Roll-off shipping. The former requires you to place your vehicle within a sealed container. You can also get a whole lot of different personal belongings with you as you choose between a 20ft and 40ft container. RORO shipping, on the other hand, doesn’t allow shipment of anything but your car. You have to empty it out entirely before it’s driven on a shipping dock at the freight carrier. You are only allowed to let your spare set of keys and tire, car jack and floor mats inside it.
As most of the import laws are updated and changed, it is essential to contact us at A1 Auto Transport or call in at the Embassy of Djibouti.
