Ship a vehicle to Chimalhuacan by simply following the vehicle shipment policies of Mexico. Fortunately, these requirements are easy to fulfill as long as your existing vehicle was purchased in the U.S. or Canada and is over the age of 5 years old. Specific documentation is needed as well, but much of it is standard and will already be in your possession.
Shipping a vehicle to Chimalhuacan will prove to be beneficial. It will allow you to travel the city with ease and avoid the public transportation available. Public transportation can be intimidating when you come from the U.S. It will present language and currency barriers.
Methods of Vehicle Shipment to Mexico.
There are several ways to have a vehicle shipped over to Chimalhuacan. These methods consist of container shipping, RO/RO shipping, and air shipping. However, air shipping is very rarely used considering it so high in cost.
RO/RO shipping is cheap. It requires that the vehicle remains empty during shipping with the exception of floor mats, a spare tire, and a car jack. The vehicle is driven on the ship and then off of the ship when it arrives at port. RO/RO shipping is not permitted at all ports.
Container shipping is commonly chosen. It allows an individual to pack other belongings in the vehicle, as well as the container. This method is a bit more costly than RO/RO shipping, but the container can be shared with another person which will help lessen the cost. Make sure that any belongings being sent with the vehicle are permitted by Mexican Customs.
Prior to choosing a shipment method, make sure that you are able to address all of the policies for vehicle shipment to Mexico from the U.S. Then, carefully select the best method of shipment. On the day that your vehicle arrives, you must be present at the port to pick it up. A port will not hold a vehicle for the owner. Luckily, there are over 40 seaports in Mexico and finding one nearby should be easy.
