Bagcilar is a developing city and many Americans have relocated recently to assist with construction and new home development. Others choose to move to the small city to work in the textile and light engineering industries, and even more have moved to Bagcilar for work with one of the Turkish news press or television stations. All of Turkey’s largest news and information agencies are located in Bagcilar. Recent road work is evident throughout the city as the new metro highway system has been revamping through the area for connection to the Istanbul Airport, the largest international airport in Turkey.

In order to move your car to the city you will need to learn the customs regulations for Turkey as well as the export regulations for the United States and you will have to hire a professional auto transporter to ship the car for you. Your most reliable source of shipping information will be from the agent working with you on scheduling your car for international transport to Bagcilar. You will need to give the auto transport company some important paperwork prior to shipping the car. The paperwork that you will need to give them will be:
- Driver’s License.
- Social Security Card.
- Power of Attorney (signed).
All other paperwork that they need will be discussed as you are scheduling shipment. It is a good idea to know where the closest Major Shipping Ports to your home location in the United States are so you will be able to decide whether you will be driving it to the port on your own or if you will need convenient door to door pick-up and delivery. The agent will explain the cost of shipping and how it is calculated as well as the contents of the shipping agreement contract that you will need to sign. If you will need to have your car delivered when it reaches Bagcilar the agent can make those arrangements. You will have to be physically present when it arrives at the port but the agent can have it delivered if you will not be able to drive it on your own from the port.
Motor Vehicle Policies in Bagcilar.
As you’re making the arrangements to have your car transported to Bagcilar you will need to know the motor vehicle policies for importing a car to Turkey. Turkey will allow you to import the car fairly easily if it is a temporary import. The rules are a bit stringent for permanent imports though. Before you can declare the time status you will need to make sure you have all the necessary paperwork to give to customs officials. Paperwork will include the following:
- Bill of Lading or Airway Bill.
- Title to car.
- Registration to car.
- Insurance Policy (Must have obtained in Turkey from a Turkish Insurance Agent).
- Commercial Invoice (New Cars).
- Bill of Sale (Used Cars).
- Residency Permit (A Blue Card).
If you are a tourist or will only be in the city for a short time it will be easy to have the car imported on a temporary status. Cars on temporary imports are eligible to stay in Bagcilar for a time period up to three months total. Permanent importation is a bit more difficult to obtain and you will need to prove resident status to import the car on a permanent basis. To do this you will need to show proof that you are in the country as a student full-time, have relocated for a full-time permanent employment position or that you have retired and will be living in Bagcilar as a permanent resident. Your automobile transport agent will help you with connecting with the right organization or agency to validate your residency proof.
How You Can Ship the Car to Bagcilar.
Due to Bagcilar’s location close enough to the sea as well as the Istanbul International Airport, there are three ways that one can choose from to transport their car to the city. Most will prefer the convenience and affordable rates with shipping by sea instead of by air. Shipping via RoRo is the fastest and least expensive way to ship by sea. RoRo is an easy mode of transport where cars are rolled, or driven, onto a RoRo ship for transport overseas and then rolled, or driven, off when they reach the port in Turkey. RoRo has been the number one way to ship an automobile since the early 1970’s and is used by millions each year. Container Shipping is the other way to ship a car by sea. Automobiles are loaded into large containers, loaded onto a cargo ship and then transported to Turkey and unloaded. While RoRo is faster and less expensive, containers will allow you to have more protection during shipment as well as be able to load other items inside the car or the container during transport. If you need to have your car delivered very fast you may be able to use Air Shipping. Shipping by air is the fastest yet most expensive way to ship a motor vehicle. It may not always be an accessible route of shipping due to location and expense.
As you are planning your automobile transport the agent working with you will provide all details for transport and will assist you with the best option for your personal car.
