Your full attention and dedication towards moving to another country is required if you wish to experience a smooth transition from one country to the next. The more time you spend conducting research and learning about the country, the more likely it is that you’ll enjoy your new surroundings once you relocate to New Zealand.
Since the hardest part of immigration is trying to understand the different types of visas and which one to apply for, it is highly recommended that you hire a migration agent. They’ll point you in the right direction and do all they can to make sure that you qualify for a New Zealand visa. Their knowledge and experience will prove invaluable to you during this process. Some of the country’s visas even come with favorable advantages including access to public assistance programs.
When you apply for a visa or citizenship in any form, you are agreeing to remain in compliance with all foreign policies as you live in the nation. Make sure you study the laws for immigration, import and simply living in New Zealand. Sometimes, it helps to join an expat group or community so that you have others from all over the world in the same position you are. This is a great way for everyone in the group to make friends and become more familiar with the nation’s culture, laws and lifestyle. It’s good to remember that you aren’t alone, and just like you- there are many newcomers hoping to make a living in the beautiful country.
The Requirements for NZ Citizenship
The requirements for New Zealand citizenship or residency depend on what type of via or grant you apply for. Every single type of citizenship offered to those who wish to enter its borders is based on your reasoning and intentions for being in the country. The requirements for each type of visa or grant for residency is different from another. However, there are certain documents and forms of proof you’ll need to provide regardless including your passport, license, birth certificate and other pertinent forms of paperwork and proof.
If you wish to apply for permanent citizenship, you’ll need to file for a permanent resident visa or citizenship grant. Both have different stipulations. A permanent resident visa is the easiest way to gain citizenship but requires you to reside in the country for at least 5 years before you can qualify.
Other than applying for permanent citizenship and residency, you can choose to apply for visas relating to anyone coming to the country for work, study or business. These visas are much easier to obtain but you must meet the criteria to be eligible for approval. Even though you’ll receive guidance and help from your migration agent if you chose to hire one, you may also call the New Zealand Embassy for current immigration policies and import requirements.
