Duty exemption on shipments of used household belongings is available, if you meet a few simple requisites. First, you must have purchased these items a minimum of three months ago. Second, you must have resided outside of Monaco for the last 12 months. Third, you aren’t permitted to sell these goods for the first year of your stay in the country. Finally, if another shipment will be arriving at a later date - the paperwork for the first shipment must declare this information (1).
For your shipment to pass through customs successfully, you must provide the necessary paperwork. You should have a comprehensive inventory, which lists monetary values and bears your signature and the date. A Certificate of Change of Residence is also required (2).
A valid passport, visa and your Original Bill of Lading or Air Waybill will be requested as well. Finally, you must submit documentation showing ownership of a residence in the country, or provide a rental contract (3).
Customs permits you to import a vehicle without paying duty, if Monaco will now be your primary place of residence. You also must have lived outside of the country for over 12 months, and have purchased the vehicle a minimum of six months ago. It’s also vital that your vehicle be included in the comprehensive inventory, which you will provide to customs (4).
Prior to allowing your vehicle to enter Monaco, customs will process the paperwork which you must provide. This includes the vehicle’s title and registration, which were issued in the country of origin. Your driver’s license (or photo ID), passport and the purchase receipt for the vehicle are also compulsory documentation. Your Original Bill of Lading is to be submitted as well, and this must include the engine size, make, model, year of manufacture and registration numbers for the vehicle (5).

There are a lot of options for auto transport these days, which surprisingly makes it harder to find a good company. I received more than 10 offers to ship my car, but I couldn’t decide on any of them.
