Preparing Your Vehicle for Overseas Transport
A-1 Auto Transport has the experience needed to let you know how to prepare your vehicle for overseas transport to Hawaii. When the car arrives at the shipping port it will have a full inspection by the USDA. They will check the car inside and out for signs of cosmetic damage as well as clumps of mud in the wheel wells, fluid leaks, grease splatters in the engine and personal content inside of the vehicle. You will need to make sure the vehicle has been cleaned inside and out. Remove all personal items from inside the car unless your agent has said you may load the car. On the exterior, you will need to remove anything that could fall off during transport. This includes spoilers, antennas that will not fold down, luggage and bike racks and other removable accessories. If you have an aftermarket, removable CD player, DVD player or monitor inside the vehicle you will want to remove those as well. Be sure to read the Bill of Lading carefully and only sign it if it is fully accurate. Your shipping agent will give you a list of other preparations that you will need to do to ensure the vehicle is fully ready for overseas transport.
