Moving away from your home in the United States to start a life in another country may come with an overwhelming amount of emotions and concerns. To avoid some of these negative feelings, hire experienced international movers to help with your move to New Zealand. They’ll make sure your possessions are safely shipped to your new home in a timely manner and at a price you can afford. In fact, hiring movers is cost effective and often cheaper than trying to conduct a move on your own.
An international mover will have everything they need to safely have your household possessions and vehicle delivered to New Zealand. They’ll even know how to deal with the import policies set by the country and what is needed to provide as proof to gain the certificate of import approval through Customs. Their help will save you from the immense amount of time and stress typically involved with the act of importation.
Shipping Methods Available for the Transport of Your Belongings
There are several transport methods you can choose from for the delivery of your goods into New Zealand. The three main forms of transport include those by ground, sea and air. Within those methods there are various types of shipping services including both enclosed and open air options. The most expensive way to ship your belongings is through air shipping methods while the least expensive shipping services include open air ground and sea freight transportation.
Although enclosed shipping methods are recommended to those moving overseas, open air methods are still available at a lesser cost. Regardless of what you choose, both of these methods are safe and protected even further by the mover’s insurance coverage. Every U.S. state sets its own insurance minimum requirements for movers and those in the transport industry. Most moving companies will offer you the option to purchase additional coverage so that full value of your possessions is covered during the relocation process.
Shipping over a Vehicle
The stipulations for shipping over a new or used vehicle from the U.S. are different from one another. You must make sure your vehicle complies with all the restrictions and standards set by the nation before it is given permission to enter borders of New Zealand. Part of meeting the requirements set by the nation includes taking your vehicle in for emissions testing. Your vehicle will NOT be permitted into New Zealand if it does not pass the emission standards.
Once your vehicle has been approved for importation, it’s time to decide how you’d like it shipped over. As with your household goods, ground and sea methods are available and come with open air and enclosed transport options. The method you choose for your vehicle will determine how it must be prepared. For open air methods, the entire car must be emptied and cleaned out. Enclosed methods typically allow you to fill the vehicle and the container its in with other belongings.
