Transport services offered in Greenfield
The enclosed shipping option depends on our team of experts and modern equipment to give your vehicles the safest rides across the country. Whether you have a highly priced luxury car or a rare classic, we can guarantee to bring it down without a slight scratch.
Moving a vehicle can drain up much of your time and energy. It is not easy to run around terminals especially when they’re at the furthest point in your state. You can ask for the door to door shipping option and have us manage every aspect, from collection to delivery.
Terminal shipping is the cost-saving delivery option. It is also the oldest industry standard. You will drop off or pick up the vehicle at an appointed transportation depot in your state.
Open-air transport has several benefits, such as driving down the cost to ship at incredible rates. It is one of the most popular solutions for shipping cars to or from Greenfield. A-1 Auto Transport offers two models in this option:
- Flatbed trucks can only carry a few cars at once, which is usually just one in many cases. We recommend it for short trips within the state and door-to-door shipping.
- Multi-car trailers can transport up to a dozen vehicles, seated on two decks. Many people can relate to seeing such trucks traveling along major highways.
We have a variety of international shipping solutions.
Cars we ship
A-1 Auto Transport knows the perfect equipment for every kind of job, regardless of where or when you need the vehicle. We have safe and affordable solutions for motorcycles, boats, trucks, sedans, station wagons, hot rods, classics, RVs, yachts, golf carts, jet skis, non-running cars, and salvage vehicles.
How to prepare a car for shipping
Once you have a set pick-up date, running a few steps may help to move your shipping experience from a total wreck to the best that you will ever get.
Keep it spotlessly clean so that it becomes easy to inspect for pre-existing damage. Prepare a record of the dents, scratches and paint discolorations on the vehicle. This record should form part of the truck driver’s vehicle condition report on the Bill of Lading. You may add dated photographs, which should clearly show every detail.
Most truckers leave the vehicle opened up while in transit to make it easy for the transport authorities to inspect it at the checkpoints. Clean out the interior, making sure that there are no valuables inside the car. You should also remove the custom accessories like radio faceplates, DVD players, stereo systems, speakers, etc. The insurance policy does not cover for these items.
If you have any loose and detachable parts on the exterior, make sure that you have them removed or covered to protect them from damage. Remove or retract the antenna and fold in the side-view mirrors. Convertibles should have the roof properly secured to avoid potential damage by the elements.
We can transport inoperable vehicles but at a higher cost. To reign in on the rates, keep the car in running shape by fixing the mechanical issues. Write a list of all the outstanding problems and share it with the truck driver. Run further maintenance checks on the fluid levels, tire pressure, battery charge, and braking system.
Always note down the current mileage as you hand over the vehicle. Try to keep the fuel level at around 1/4 of the tank. Too much gas may add unnecessary weight to the car. Disable the alarm system and prepare an extra set of keys that you will give to the truck driver.
