As one of America's leading domestic and international car shippers, A-1 Auto Transport offers the most comprehensive solutions for your next move. We can cover you starting from preparing the paperwork to finding the right transport option:
- Shipping containers help to secure vehicles from potential damage while in transit. The options on offer at A-1 Auto Transport include shared and dedicated containers. The shared option protects the cargo while lowering the cost to ship, while the exclusive option offers more room to keep your personal and household goods.
- Roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) transport helps vehicle owners to keep the costs in check as they make a move to an overseas country. The vessels used need little handling equipment as all the cargo gets wheeled in by driving or using special trolleys. Our RoRo network covers all the major worldwide destinations.
Types of cars we ship

How to prepare a car for shipping
It counts to take enough time to help create a smooth transition for your car. Here is what you need to do:
- Prepare all the necessary documentation. You might need to give proof that you are the legitimate owner of the vehicle. You can get copies of the documents and have them certified by the Directorate of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
- Do not leave personal items and valuables during transportation. We will run through several checkpoints where the authorities will inspect your car for these items as well as any contraband goods.
- Wash the vehicle so that it becomes easy to do a thorough inspection. Use the process to check and record all details of the existing cosmetic damage. Share your records with the truck driver at the collection and make sure that they are acknowledged.
- Loose and hanging items on the exterior might run into some damage when loading or unloading. Get them removed or covered with some form of protective padding.
- Do not fuel up the car since it may add unnecessary weight to the carrier. We recommend that you keep it at about 1/4 of the tank, which will allow the driver to drive the vehicle at the necessary points.
- Always try to keep the vehicle in proper running shape. Make a record of all the mechanical problems and special operations needed for your car and give it to the truck driver.
- Make sure that you get the best insurance cover for shipping cars to or from Gonzales.
