I Move Auto is a motor vehicle transportation and shipping brokerage company based in
Wilmington, Delaware. They ship cars across the United States including to Alaska, Puerto Rico,
and Hawaii. They also ship to certain parts of Canada.
The company deals in the shipping of the cars, trucks, SUVs, RVs, and motorcycles. They also
transport oversized and inoperable vehicles. Their shipping options include both open-air
carriers and enclosed carrier shipping. The company has a pricing model based on a few
variables, which include time, distance and route, type of shipping, and the season. With regard
to time and distance, your price goes up if your pick up is off any main roads or in a place that is
harder to access. It also goes up if you require any expedited shipping. Enclosed shipping also
tends to cost more, since they use more expensive equipment such as soft tie downs, and
carries a larger insurance cover on your vehicle (Up to $1,000,000). The provide storage to
those who require it for any reason.
I Move Auto through their website, encourage you to try and schedule your car shipping
through the low season, November to February, since the prices are fairer. They have a lot
more advice on their website as well, so it would be prudent to check it out before shipping.
The company can be reached through the contact information provided on this page.

I contacted I Move Auto to transport my 66 Barracuda from Mass to NJ. I was told they would have the driver they subcontracted with do a walk around inspection of the vehicle upon pick up to note any imperfections such as scratches,
dings, dents etc. I was told my car would be picked up Wed May 22 and either delivered that day or the next. When I spoke with them on Wed. I was told the delivery vehicle had axle trouble and they would find me another driver with another enclosed trailer.and gave me his info for pick up and delivber on Thurs, May 23. Upon arrival, the driver could not get the vehicle out of his trailer as the battery was dead. I was able to reach Chris at I Move Auto & he asked if the driver left a drain on the battery by leaving the key on. When asked driver only admitted he left the key in the ignition & when pressed he sheepishly shrugged that he might have left the key on. When a jump box was added, it started right up and we put the vehicle in my driveway after circling the block twice. While the car was still in the trailer I asked about the radio antenna that was missing from its fender mount & the driver said he though it was a mirror that was missing & did make a mark on the vehicle inspection diagram (this was the only thing he inspected/noted). Upon telling him it was a fender antenna mount the driver stated that he. did not know it was from an antenna. As I walked around the vehicle I pointed out various small dings, dimple dents & scratches & asked if he made such notations anywhere. The driver said his job was to pick up & deliver. When told that he was also to do an inspection & report before leaving, he said no one told him that & he was in a hurry because the pick up location was a highway busy with traffic & he was afraid he would get a ticket. I called I Move Auto & Chris told me it was all the responsiblilty & fault of the subcontracted company & I should get the driver’s company. ID & insurance info. A rep at his company gave me a run around & by this time the driver complained he had to get going & wanted his money. & grabbed the vehicle keys while the motor was on to charge the battery..Suddenly once I Move Auto knew there was an issue, Chris’s number was no longer working & no one picked up regardless of other extensions I called. I called the Police to intervene as I am a senior citizen & wanted to avoid physical violence. The office asked me to complete payment if he could get the driver’s insurance info keys and I did. However, I never got a receipt nor any inspection report. I reported this to my credit card company regarding the deposit I initially made & I do NOT intend to pay that fee. Now I will be filing a civil complaint against I Move Auto.

Terrible customer service. We went under contract with them to ship a car from NJ to UT. The driver who was scheduled to pick up the car, got sick at the last minute. “I Move Auto” was completely unreasonable & unavailable when we contacted them for a resolution and a new pick-up time. The phone number was not answered; the mailbox was full. We were told we would receive a call by 5pm and we did not. After that time, we called them for the 3rd time that day. The customer service rep at main office, Gene, was rude and unhelpful on the phone. A supervisor was not available to provide a discount for customer service reasons or to resolve the customer service issue at all. I would give zero stars if that were an option. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

I relied on I Move Auto to safely ship my car and they were well-equipped and experienced to handle my request. I made good use of the lower rates during the low season so as to have a reliable but affordable move. I rate them very highly.
