Shipping an Automobile to Ammon
When you are making plans to ship an automobile to Ammon, be sure to keep the following in mind to help ensure your transport goes smoothly:
How to transport
You need to know what kind of carrier you want to use before you start calling auto transport companies. There are two types of carriers and those are open and enclosed. Open carriers are the way that most automobiles are shipped in the U.S. They are open on the top and sides and cars are driven onto the truck and secured in place for transport. An enclosed carrier is sealed on all sides and is perfect for expensive luxury cars and vintage cars. An enclosed carrier will cost more than an open carrier but will be the best for you if you have an expensive car that should not be exposed to the elements during transport.
How to prepare the car
Preparing the car is one of the most important things about automobile transport. Since automobiles are inspected when the carrier picks them up they need to be washed so the driver can see all surface areas clearly. The inside should be clean and free of personal items. Personal items are not usually allowed to be inside a car during transport as they can become dislodged and cause damage. They are also not covered by cargo insurance and if lost or damaged will not be replaced by the transporter. Unless approved by the company, all automobiles should be operable and in good running condition with good brakes, tires and a fully charged battery. Enough fuel should be in the car to load and unload other vehicles along the way, but be sure it is not higher than a quarter tank so it will not add extra weight to the shipping bill.
