By now you must have sifted through a series of quotes from different movers and have already settled on the one that satisfied you most. You however, do need to gather all the information you need in order to make a conclusion. First, check that the moving people are trustworthy and reliable. Make sure you are negotiating with the company and not a broker.

Being in the business for many years does not automatically translate to high quality in service execution. However, reputable moving companies have a history. You can check and find out what makes the provider remain competitive and have a reputation for efficiency and safety.
Subcontracting of work
Some movers, the larger ones, sublet their jobs to smaller firms. Ask whether this will apply in your situation and if so, obtain the subcontractor’s info. Extra fees may apply where a mover must transfer your belongings to another truck or carry boxes for a distance before getting to where they can park the truck. Carrying items from storied buildings, use of elevators with load restrictions and large or heavy cartons may attract additional fees. Storage or packing services
For long-distance relocation, you might need a few days of storage before you can retrieve your possessions. Ask whether the company provides this service. Do not consent to make full payment up-front as you are not certain of the service completion. Insist on an initial deposit with the balance upon satisfactory delivery and have accounted for all items.
For a moving process to succeed, you must plan meticulously and hire reputable movers. Even as you do, the company should have unquestionable licensing and an untainted reputation. They must also disclose whether they will involve a subcontractor or not. Inquire about added fees as well as charges for storage and handling.
